Eight-part ABC drama set in a fictitious psychiatric hospital in the NSW Blue Mountains that tackles the complexities of mental illness. Nik Katira is a psych nurse whose patients are getting better while he’s getting worse.

Leeanne implemented the impact campaign working with Show-runner Kristen Dunphy and Executive Producer Chloe Rickard. Achievements:

  • Created a movement around #TapIntoMentalHealth, utilising the fact that Wakefield was the most viewed drama commission on ABC iview in 2021 to date.

  • Media coverage - hitting every major news outlet in Australia - elevated the conversation about mental health.

  • Coordinated work with partners beyond the show to reach new audiences, working closely with 20 impact partners and other productions working in the area of mental health

  • The show continues to be used as a case study to advance mental health initiatives in the screen sector.
